I heard this on the radio while at work, I chuckled. I decided I would share this with my wife Katie, we sing songs that stick in your head all day during an early morning wake-up, my sister Anne who I like to put songs in her head via the internet and Bryan who I just thought would enjoy this.

I’ve posted the MC5 before but the other night this came up while I had my player on shuffle. Rob Tyner’s bluesy vocals on this track went on to influence many rock singers. You can totally hear where Chris Robinson from the Black Crowes took his influence from.

When you say reggae most people think of Bob Marley. I love Bob but I am also into many other reggae artists. A lot of people have never heard of Dennis Brown. Dennis was dubbed The Crown Prince of Reggae by Bob Marley. Great music with an amazing career spanning 31 years and over 75 albums.

The other night I was talking to my friend Steve via the web. We got to talking about the time we went to see Mudhoney at the the Blind Pig in Ann Arbor.
26th of February 1999, supporting band Queen Bee. $12.
The very first song I got popped in the nose causing my white tee to be stained with blood. Steve was grabbed on the ass by a random. We rocked out that night. Blood soaked and violated. We ended upstairs in the band room with Mudhoney talking shit and drinking beer. Steve thinks we just walked up there, however looking back now, I remember that my friend Terry Bradley was the drummer for Queen Bee. I’m sure Terry got us up in the band room. We hung out till after five in the morning. The funny thing is that I could have been hanging out with Karen Neal from Queen Bee all night, instead I chose to talk to Matt Lukin about smoking pot with a coke can.

My sister posted that she was going to see David Byrne. I was jealous because I had the chance to go see him when I was living in Perth. He was playing at the Perth Zoo (kind of odd? I just picture him on the stage with a bunch of animals). The zoo was probably a 20 minute walk at best from home and for some reason I gave it a miss. Bad decision 8468.
When I jumped in the car to go to work today this was the first song to play from my ipod. Slap in the face!

I really feel this is one of those songs that you think “Wow! You frickin’ nailed it!”
I love the groove with Yukimi’s vocals. Honestly reminds me of MJ’s questioning voice/sound on Off The Wall, which is just prior to him becoming the ‘King of Pop’.
